In Estate and Business Planning, You Want Someone Who’s Been There and Done That Before

The ins and outs of deciding what happens to your assets after you’re gone, strategizing to ensure the results of your hard work are passed on to your loved ones in the manner you want – that’s not a skill that most people develop naturally in regular life. Neither is the ability to correctly structure and organize a business.
These are things that you learn by doing them – or by working with an experienced professional who has seen the good, bad, and ugly of what can happen and knows how to guide you to the best path for your needs.
What do we mean by that?
Learn from the Things We’ve Seen and Experienced – Good and Bad
The importance of business and estate planning experience cannot be overstated, and serving as that trusted guide for our clients is one of the things we most enjoy about doing this kind of work. We’ve seen what happens when things go badly, and we want to help you avoid those unfortunate situations.
Here’s what I mean by that in a bit more detail:

Hi, this is Barry Haimo. Thanks for stopping by for another dose of Bite-Sized Bits of Knowledge, where we give you meaningful information in a short amount of time.
Today we’re just talking in general. Nothing in particular. I just want to share with you that I enjoy creating these videos. We’re on dozens of videos, and I enjoy it. I feel like I’m conveying information that I’ve studied, that I’ve learned, that I’ve experienced personally and professionally.
In over ten years of being in practice. We’ve seen so many things. We’ve seen so many things. It’s like that Farmers Insurance commercial. We’ve seen a thing or two so we know how to plan because we’ve seen a thing or two. I forget how it goes. I just butchered that.
But the point is we’ve seen a lot of things, and we want to teach people what to avoid, how to avoid it. Because the blow-ups are significant. As I mentioned in another video, it’s the three Cs. It’s Court, Costs, and Conflict.
And they’re not small, these matters. They can really blow up and be expensive. Litigation can be tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. It could take years to resolve. And personally, my opinion from seeing it a lot, is the emotional toll of litigation far exceeds the financial toll.
Every day it, like, eats you up. Every day, it’s something. And it’s just a complete distraction and disruption to your life. So that conflict is bad. It’s even worse when you have a family and you’re fighting over things that really could have been avoided. That family is going to be broken. That relationship is broken. There’s going to be a sour taste in their mouths forever. And it’s probably irreconcilable. And that’s just tragic to see. It all is avoidable with some thoughtful planning.
And, of course, the court system. That’s time-consuming and can be unpredictable. So that could be avoided, too.
I’m doing these videos. I’m sharing with you our knowledge what we’ve learned, what we’ve seen. I’m hoping you find it valuable.
If there’s anything that I’m missing or any areas that you want me to talk about, shoot me an email at Info@haimolaw.com. H-A-I-M as in Mike, Olaw.com. I’ll consider it. I’ll at least give you a response that we’re considering it or not considering it. But I’m very open. If you have a question, and I think it will benefit people, I’ll put on a video.
All right. So thank you for stopping by, and stay tuned for more.
So we’re here. We’re happy to talk and answer any questions you have, drawing from our business and estate planning experience to help. We want to share the things we’ve learned in our years of doing this with our clients.
Why do we believe working with an experienced attorney who’s willing to walk you through the available options and help you understand the decisions you’re making is so important?
The Power of a Knowledgeable, Experienced Attorney Who Cares
Estate and business planning isn’t just about dotting the “i”s and crossing the “t”s of legal paperwork. It’s about having a trusted guide who’s available, communicative, and genuinely invested in helping you understand the “why” behind every decision – because all of these decisions have to work for you and what you want to achieve.
What do you gain from working with someone who understands how to utilize the law to help you reach your goals?
Clarity and Confidence
Planning for your future can feel overwhelming, but when an experienced attorney takes the time to walk you through each step – answering your questions, explaining your options, and making sure you’re confident in every choice you make – it can be a huge weight off your shoulders.
Personalized Guidance
No two families or businesses are alike. A thoughtful attorney listens first, then helps build a plan tailored to your values, goals, and the people you care about most.
Education-Focused Approach
It’s not just about creating documents – it’s about helping you understand how everything works and why it matters. A good attorney will empower you with knowledge so you can make informed, meaningful decisions.
Proactive Communication
You shouldn’t have to chase down answers or wonder what’s going on. When you work with someone who values clear, ongoing communication, you’ll always know where things stand – and what comes next.
Strategic Planning for the Future
Whether you’re protecting your family, securing your business, or both, having someone by your side who stays current on laws and sees the big picture makes all the difference.
Peace of Mind
Ultimately, you’ll walk away with more than a set of documents – you’ll have a real relationship with a professional who’s available when you need them and cares about helping you build a lasting legacy.
Business and estate planning experience matters – but so does the desire and willingness to utilize that experience for each client’s benefit. Reach out today to learn more about the Haimo Law process and see if we are a good fit for you.
